I think this nails it!
"what people need is not more forms of entertainment but answers to real problems, which aren’t losing weight, making money or having a happier marriage, by the way. No, real problems are personal corruption because of sin, self destruction because of immoral choices and self consumption because of poor stewardship."
I was reading a book by J.P. Moreland and he was discussing the rise of anti-intellectualism and the engenderment of secularization in America. This is especially interesting. I feel we are replacing our books and commentaries with xbox and blue ray; thus we are losing the passion and zeal for the Lord because of these distractions; furthermore, we are blinded to the fundamental truths that are working against us “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”
Just a thought…

AMEN!
I fight a sadness deep in my soul over this issue. It grieves me to know that so many are walking around believing they are a Christian...We have bought the lies being perpetrated by Satan and exchanged the true gospel of Jesus Christ for a more "accepting and tolerant" faith. For those who take the holiness of God serious they are called "legalistic" and are not "authentic" in their faith or worship.
When did our Christian faith become more about what we can do for Him, rather, than what He has done for us?
